Recently I had the pleasure to capture the wedding day of Shareese and Trey's wedding in Asheboro, North Carolina. I've never been to downtown Asheboro before, always just heading there to go to the NC Zoo on the other other side of the city. What I discovered was that Asheboro is a beautiful city with wonderfulcharm. I also found one of the best hidden gems, 105 Worth Centre, a full function event venue.
105 Worth Event Centre Features Make for a Great Venue!
In previewing this venue walking in the front door, the first thing that hit me was the beautiful wooden turning staircase. I immediately knew that this would be an important feature to capture my bride coming down on the wedding day! I then met with Everen, the owner of 105 Worth as he showed me around and I started to make my plans.
On the first floor is a very large room that would act as our ceremony area. With the beautiful hardwood floors and amazing hanging chandelier, and a front wall with string lights acting as a pulpit background. I could tell immediately that this would be the perfect place for two lives to join together as one!
Everen than walked me to "backstage" showing me first the bridal suite, a place for brides to get ready or just put on their finishing touches. I then got to see theprep areas for the guys. Down a small flight of steps in the back takes you to this really cool "guys" room, equipped with apool table, a bar, huge plush chairs. All the things that guys getting ready need to for the big day.
Next we headed upstairs to see the reception area. The front has tall windows allowing for natural light to flow in hardwood floors, exposed brick walls and wood & beam ceilings. Lights were strung throughout to really highlight the exposed brick, an amazing feature giving the center a real "urban" modern feel. There was no question in my mind that a great party would happen here, and I was right!
Getting the Bride to the Venue - They Ride in Style!!!
The bride would be spending a good part of her morning getting ready at her suite a the Holiday Inn Express in Asheboro, just a few minutes away. Shareese had a very large bridal party (a matron of honor, two maids of honor, and seven bridesmaids). So though the hotel was only a few miles from 105 Worth, getting this large party together easily might be a challenge. However, I discovered that 105 Worth has a beautiful full featured limo to help get this large party from the hotel to the venue.
As the party arrived at 105 Worth and the limo door opened, you could see and hear that the bridal party had a great time on the short ride over. Music playing and smiles and laughter coming from everywhere inside the limo as it easily accommodated this large bridal party.
Catering - It's all about the Food
After the ceremony it's now time to party. But before everyone starts to shake loose and party, dinner must be served. As you walk into the beautifully decorated venue, with clothed covered tables and beautiful wooden full back chairs, you start to smell the delicious food. In our case the bride choose to have a buffet, all served in silver chafing dishes. It was obvious to me that the word "classy" is the best word to describe the venue and all that work there!
One of My Favorite Features is Right Next Door!
As a photographer, whenever I preview a venue, I immediately start to look at features around it for portrait photography opportunities. As 105 Worth is a beautiful small city venue in the South, what better venue is that of the old Randolph County Courthouse with it's classic columns and architecture. This and the buildings next to it made for a great backdrop for photos after the event that allowed us to capture images quickly, allowing the wedding party to get to the reception quickly and begin to party!
If you're looking for a wonderful city venue with southern charm, then I would highly recommend considering using 105 Worth for your wedding. It was clear that Everen and his team does everything possible to make things go smoothly so you have the time of your life on your special day!
Selecting a photographer with Experience is important!
Selecting the right photographer to capture your special dayis important. I've worked with many bridesin so many venues. They all tell me that my planning style is more than they ever expected from their wedding photographer and makes them feel that much more relaxed on the big day, and a relaxed bride is a beautiful bride! I'd love to capture the same beauty for you!
